The Lagos State Police Command on Wednesday, June 1,
2016 arrested one Austine Okwuokei (seen in photo) at
Costain Roundabout, Iponri, while extorting money from
motorist under the pretence of being a policeman.
Investigation carried out revealed that the said Austine
makes up to Ten Thousand Naira (N10,000) daily from his
illegal activities which has painted the police in bad light
as his victims saw him as a genuine policeman.
Arrangements have been concluded to charge the suspect
to court accordingly.
The Lagos State Police Command is advising members of
the public not to part with their money to anyone who
claims to be a police officer or seen wearing resemblance
of police uniform as the leadership of the force frowns at
all forms of corruption.
